"Through 22 years of growth, God has called me to wholeheartedly pursue a fasted lifestyle of surrendered lovesickness. God has an intense fire burning and growing in me, an unstoppable zeal, and unending love for Jesus. I am a sojourner on earth, an eternal citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven, a forerunner, and a watchman preparing the way for the glorious and imminent return of Jesus,
by sharing the Gospel as a world missionary."

Happiness in the Himalayas!

Tis Christmas of 2010, and I ask myself “Why have I chosen to be thousands of miles away from my family, friends, food, lights, gifts, and festivities of Christmas in America?” Ah yes! I’m here in Nepal celebrating the incarnation of God’s Love shown through the birth of Jesus Christ. After-all, Christmas is not about me. CHRISTmas is about Christ worldwide! I LOVE Him, therefore I live FOR Him! He also lives WITH me. Tis Christmas, and I find myself equipping Nepali church planters with the Gospel of the Kingdom, influencing all spheres of society with the Biblical Worldview of Loving God above ALL else... learning the model of YWAM's Bible School for the Nations in Nepal so I can take it to Mongolia as a long term multiplicational ministry to reach the unreached of the Mongolian Countryside!... and finally, mobilizing passionate lovers of Jesus to boldly accept the calling of missions to the difficult places of the world.
What I’ve just written is a broken attempt to define my seasonal purpose from God. Living in the very center of His purposes invites absolute PEACE and BLESSING! I’m convinced living in a community centered around Christ is simply phenomenal, because Jesus Joy is contagious! There’s a saying here in Nepal... “Foreigners come for the mountains, but return for the people!” My Nepali family is drop-dead gorgeous, inside and out. We all call each other brothers and sisters. Smiles, laughter, and dancing are nearly every day!
As we’ve been studying the nature and character of God in the Old Testament, God’s Spirit of Revelation and Understanding has been working overtime. Revelation is leading us into encounters with God. Hiss tangible presence, tears, and laughter have all been sealing the truths we’ve been learning in the BSN. God can be known and wants to be known. We are continually discovering His infinite attributes and falling in Love all over again!
The combination of Biblical study, dance/worship parties, relationship building, and yeti dress-ups have made this Christmas season incomparable. We even packed a live chicken into the Himalayas to roast over our campfire. Apologetic conversations until midnight and fresh buffalo milk delivered by Nepali sherpas in the morning made some pretty memorable times! not to mention the most phenomenal view of all time, singing tropical birds, and spying leopards as we sleep under the stars!
God’s Christmas present to both Caleb and I is a trekking adventure into the Annapurna Base Camp for a week to celebrate our best friend’s Birthday!
(JESUS LIVES!)
